Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is “telehealth” or "online counseling?"

A: The formal definition of telehealth is “the provision of healthcare remotely through technology.” At Willow Lane Health, it simply means video chats, phone calls and emails with your addiction therapist by means of confidential, convenient technology from wherever you are.  While many health conditions and treatment plans require you to drive to an office (which may or may not be close to you) and sit in a waiting room, Willow Lane Health’s care is provided entirely over your phone, tablet, or computer.  We engage with you from whatever location is best for you. "Online counseling" or "online therapy" are often used interchangeably with "telehealth counseling" or "telehealth therapy."

Q: What do I need to get started?

A: All you need is access to a phone, tablet, or computer.  You can schedule your initial session that fits your schedule today! If you have insurance, just have your insurance or Medicaid card ready.

Q: Do you accept my insurance?

A: We currently accept Medicaid and self-pay through credit card.  The rates are published above.

Q: What happens during my first online/phone appointment with you?

A: The first session will consist of an initial assessment so your therapist can get to know you. Your therapist will also work with you to create a treatment plan with long- and short-term goals that you want to achieve.

Q: What if I don’t have internet or can’t do a video session?

A:  No problem. Though we love to see our patients on video and interact with them visually, we can also work together over a normal phone call through our patient system.  Just call 888-643-1529 and we'll set it up.

Q: In which states do you currently serve patients?

A: We are currently serving the entire state of North Carolina and are preparing to open up another 3-4 states quickly.
